Guidelines
Articles must be submitted as text only in the body of an email message (no file attachments) to ax@aurealis.com.au no later than the last day of the month prior to publication.
aurealisXpress accepts market news; book, film and video reviews; and flash fiction. Articles should be no longer than 200 words; flash fiction should be 50 words or less (see below).
There is no payment for articles or fiction submitted to aurealisXpress but your contribution will of course be credited.
Copyright of articles and fiction remains with the author. aurealisXpress reserves the right to edit pieces prior to publication. Wherever possible we will liaise with the author regarding proposed edits.
aurealisXpress may choose to archive articles or works of flash fiction on this website at the discretion of the editor.
Flash fiction
WIN a recently released science fiction or fantasy novel!
This ongoing section of aurealisXpress is for ultra-short short stories submitted by readers — to a maximum length of 50 words. Note that the title should be one word only (or 'Untitled').
Submissions should be pasted into the body of an email (no file attachments) and sent to aurealisXpress with the subject line: aurealisXpress flash fiction.
Winning stories will be featured in forthcoming issues of aurealisXpress and archived at the Aurealis website. Each month the prize is a recently released science fiction or fantasy novel, which the winner picks from a choice of at least three. All rights remain with the author.
Receipt of flash fiction entries is not given. If you don't hear from us within three months, your story will not be chosen for future publication.
